Yes. They share the chemical composition, crystal structure and optical properties of mined diamonds. The only difference is where they formed: in a controlled laboratory rather than underground.
By one of two processes. HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) recreates the conditions deep in the earth; CVD (chemical vapour deposition) grows the diamond layer by layer from carbon-rich gas. Both produce diamonds physically identical to natural ones.
To the naked eye, absolutely not. Lab-grown diamonds sparkle, refract light and feel the same as natural diamonds, and only specialized gemological equipment can tell them apart. In truth, the only way to tell the difference is that a lab-grown diamond is more perfect than a natural diamond can be — grown in a controlled laboratory, it is free of the inclusions and imperfections that mining leaves behind. We always disclose the origin of every stone we offer.
Yes. We offer certification on all jewelry and diamonds purchased. Every diamond is graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) for cut, colour, clarity and carat, so you know exactly what you are receiving.
